Vichy – Aqualia Thermal Light Cream

I was recently sent Vichy Laboratories’ new Aqualia Thermal Light Cream complimentary to test out by Influenster, and wanted to share my thoughts on it!

About the brand

Vichy is a premium skincare company that sells skincare, body care, makeup and anti-aging products. The brand is owned by the powerhouse, L’Oreal, and has been around for over 80 years. The name, Vichy originates from the town of Vichy in France, where the town’s hot spring’s thermal spa water is the water source used in its formulations. The Thermal Spa Water brings with it 15 beneficial minerals and antioxidants found to improve skin quality, soothe skin sensitivity, and accelerate the healing of skin superficial wounds. To read more about the Thermal Spa Water, you can head over to their website.

The Product

Vichy launched a new line of products by the name of Aqualia Thermal, formulated with 97 natural-origin ingredients, and this  includes minerals, hyaluronic acid, plant mannose, and Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water (obviously) to keep skin hydrated and refreshed for 48 hours. There’s no parabens, mineral oil, or silicone making it 100% hypoallergenic (sensitive skin people rejoice!) This specific product that I received, Aqualia Thermal Light Cream is for normal to combination skin type, and they have a Rich Cream version for those with dry skin.

It claims to:

  • keep skin feeling hydrated and plumed for 48 hours
  • smoothen dehydration lines
  • give a fresh complexion

And has been tested in the most extreme conditions (extreme weather, stress, and pollution)

Review

Pros:

✔ I found that this product definitely left my face feeling plumped and hydrated

✔ It did not clog up my pores or break me out (I have combo skin, oily T-zone)

✔ Smells light and great (I’m extremely sensitive to smells and would not use a product based on its smell as it WILL give me a headache)

Cons:

✘ It leaves behind a slight tacky layer on my skin (this doesn’t happen to everyone but it just, unfortunately, affects me)

✘ It comes in a jar. This is a personal preference however, I prefer pump bottles over jars as I find it to be more sanitary

Would I purchase this once I use it up?

For $40 CAD, I would want my moisturizer to feel luxurious and leave behind a plumped, hydrated face which this Aqualia Thermal Light Cream does but because it leaves behind a tacky layer, it affects my makeup application and that’s a no-no. I don’t think I’ll be picking this up in the future but I would definitely recommend this to people who don’t wear makeup that often, and wouldn’t be affected by the slightly tacky feel!

If you would like to try it out, you can purchase this product at your local Shoppers Drug Mart’s Beauty Boutique, or on their website.

Have you tried these out? Let me know what you think!

xoxo,
